Edible Art

I have been painting in all sorts of medium in the past-- fabric, canvas, paper, wood, plastic, eggs, shells, polymer clay. My art has to evolve somehow. In 2011, my hubby and I enrolled in a pastry course. You guessed it right, "why not paint on cakes and other edibles?" Enjoy a few edible artworks I have done... It has been centuries since my last update. ...til next!

I have enrolled in one basic polymer clay art basic short course and got addicted to this stuff. Most of the time, I do mixed media using polymer clay and adding watch bits and other hardware items like bolts and screws to create a different art, "steampunkery" is the term.

I will be posting a few artworks using this method.
Browse and enjoy!

Kokeshi On Holiday with Pics

Kokeshi On Holiday

I just had the most wonderful and creative time during the holidays. I can no longer stop creating more wooden dolls. These babies have their own wooden art box, as well. Recently did Wednesday and Morticia Addams, and i may probably do Rapunzel very soon.

"Great to be Alive"

I saw this picture at the Sunday Inquirer newspaper this morning. I had a great time painting this one with my pastels and acrylic paints on a 360gsm paper board. A painting a day keeps the boredom away.

Kokeshi Dolls

I am fascinated with the Kokeshi Dolls, those handcrafted cuties with no arms and legs. It gives me pure joy creating them. I first made the smaller peg dolls, then finally came up with these. Little Red Riding hood and Alice in Wonderland are two of my favorite characters of all time. So, i had to pay tribute to these "fierce" ladies. I will be posting more of them soonest.

Bieber Fever

There is an epidemic or should i say a pandemic on everything Bieber. My girls, although they are not huge on JB, suggested to have me paint a JB -theme shoes. This was done on a Robertson low tops and i can also do this on Converse. If you are interested to have one, we can work out a JB design of your choice and see how it goes. You can give me an email or visit my shop at ETSY.
